Maybe you know a lot of recipes for hamburgers, but what about the buns? My aunt Veronica makes them whenever my dad grilled hamburgers.. They go perfectly together. I hope that you will like my recipe.

Ingredients

1 Tbsp. of white sugar

2 Tbsp. of butter

1 Envelope active dry yeast,.25 oz.

5 1/2 Cups of all-purpose flour

1 1/2 Tsp. of salt

1 Cup of milk

1 Egg yolk

1 Cup of water

1 Tbsp. water

Directions

In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, milk, 1 cup of water and salt. Bring to a boil and set aside until it’s just warm.

Using a large bowl, mix the flour and yeast. Add in the wet ingredients and stir until the dough starts to pull together. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.

Grease a bowl and put dough on it.

Turn it to coat. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 400 °F.

Form 12 dough balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Let stand for 4 minutes. Flatten each ball and set aside so they rise a little more.

In a cup or small bowl, whisk the egg yolk and1 tablespoon of water. Brush onto the tops of the rolls. Put buns into the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Take them off the oven and put them in again, this time switch baking sheets: the one that was on top, place it at the bottom. Bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until brown on the top and bottom.
